UK — the timeline cliff is in January 2027.

Lock in the 2-year Graduate Route before the change.

Applications submitted on or before 31 December 2026 keep the full 2-year Graduate Route (3 years for PhDs). From 1 January 2027, the route shortens to 18 months. We plan course end-dates around this cliff.

UK study questions

Decision points for 2026 applicants.

  • The 2-year Graduate Route is replaced by an 18-month variant for new applications submitted from 1 January 2027 onwards. Doctoral graduates retain 3 years. Application date — not course start — determines which rule applies.

  • You can switch from Graduate Route to Skilled Worker within the UK if you find a licensed sponsor at the salary floor (£41,700+ in 2026). We coach the switch from month one of the Graduate Route.

  • No — you’ve already met language requirements under the Student visa. Graduate Route has no separate language test.

UK institutional associations
