Schengen questions

Common decisions.

  • The country where you’ll spend the most nights. If equal, the country of first entry. We pick based on shortest current waiting time when applicants have flexibility.

  • No. UK and Ireland are not Schengen members; they require separate visit visas. We file in parallel where the trip covers both.

  • Electronic Travel Information and Authorisation System, in force from 2026. Visa-exempt travellers (e.g. UK, US, Canadian, Japanese passport holders) need ETIAS pre-travel authorisation. Visa-required travellers continue using Schengen visa.

  • No — Schengen is short-stay. Working or studying requires a national long-stay visa from the destination country.

Peak summer Schengen slots fill in March.
